Childhood: dance, drawing, piano — and the three questions

Started dance at five, drawing and piano at ten. Primary-school weekends were packed with things I chose myself: dance class in the morning, voice in the afternoon, piano in the evening, then the library and the book mall after class.

I drew on my bedroom wall, imagining a world that belonged to me.
I gave myself a task: every day, on the ride to school, think of three questions that could make me grow.

Why does the brain think the way it does? Why does everyone think differently?
For a while I wanted to be an astronomer — math and physics are genuinely beautiful. It was a pure longing that needed no reason.

Cross-university minor · Industrial Design (Shanghai Jiao Tong University)

Minor in industrial design, 86/100. The first deliberate crossover between psychology (understanding people) and design (expressing and creating).

86/100
I had studied psychology — how could it create real value for other people? Design is an interface: it gives what we think a shape, and it invents.

Exchange year in the US · all of junior year

Exchanged at Southern Connecticut State University (GPA 3.76/4, Dean's List) and Bridgewater State University (GPA 3.94/4, Dean's List). Four planned months became a year: stranded in Seattle by Omicron, then transferred to a Massachusetts state school; kept going to MIT for lectures and libraries; earned the money for my own flight home.

One day in middle school, the thought “I want to go see the world outside” crashed into my head. I grew up in a mountain village, endlessly curious about what was out there. In that moment, I had actually made it.
I had meant to pour my youngest years into research, but every study came with experimental boundaries and conditions — it couldn't answer what I was chasing right then.

The fork: UBC Computer Science × MiraclePlus

Received an offer for a second degree in Computer Science at the University of British Columbia and completed registration, without going on campus; at the same time interned at MiraclePlus (formerly YC China) on the startup camp and community: ran the camp end to end, working with 60+ startup projects and 200+ founders, hosted a thousand-person investor demo day, bootcamp NPS above 90%. In the end I withdrew my enrollment at UBC to go all in on innovation and entrepreneurship.

Backing young founders from the source, from zero to one, through innovation — that is the thing I most deeply want to do. I was willing to put UBC down for it.

Co-founder & COO · digital-persona platform

A seed-stage digital-persona platform valued in the tens of millions of RMB. I owned everything outside product R&D and design: the full 0→1 commercialization loop, an AI product evaluation framework, PMF validation in education (600+ students in beta), a cold-start seed community (a hundred-person core community in two months, 7,000+ user growth), and a Xiaohongshu operations SOP (50+ posts, 45.8k reads at peak).

After three months alongside founders at MiraclePlus, hearing all those stories, I badly wanted to step onto the field myself: what is starting a company actually like?
The partner who invited me saw digital personas — and the world — in a way that felt brand new. He opened a different angle on reality for me, and showed me how AI might finally belong to people.

Head of global creator growth · Medeo, an AI video product

Owned the overseas launch and KOL/KOC/UGC growth across four platforms: 300k+ attributed signups in six months (50%+ of the company's 550k total); worked with 200+ creators, shipped 300+ pieces of content and built the end-to-end SOP; designed multi-variable A/B tests that proved YouTube the best channel by CAC and ROI; taught myself AI coding tools and single-handedly built a growth automation system; built the SEO and technical-SEO practice from zero.

I was hungry to work with people better than me — in the old environment, my growth had slowed down.
Once I started using AI tools, I felt surer about many things — when a problem shows up, I know how to break it down.

Featured project · the “好好说话” tennis court (AdventureX hackathon)

Project lead. Turned psychology theory into a real-time AI feedback system: conversation abstracted as a tennis rally, with judging, attacking and boundary-crossing defined as balls hit over the net, scored live with points gained and lost. Defined the requirements, designed the interaction and built it alone in 48 hours; validated with 170+ users on site.

Featured project · AI for good: an AI mental-health nonprofit

Core volunteer. Worked with counselors, ML and product teams across the full model-development loop; from 22 sets of real counseling transcripts, co-defined dimensions like empathy, positive regard and goal alignment with psychology experts, building a quality-evaluation system for AI counseling — presented at a UN mental-health forum; owned the website launch and beta recruiting, with 1,000+ beta users and 30 in-depth interviews.

Now · HKUST MPhil in Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship MPhil at HKUST. Coming back to research with the questions that grew out of building — the tree's current ring, and the doorway to Research (the seeds).

HKUST · MPhil TIE
I want one whole stretch of time to take the questions I'm desperate to understand, and understand them completely.

One tree, still growing on a thin hilltop.

Ten rings, one trunk, and roots wider than the crown. 向上生长,先向下扎根 — what holds this up is wider than what shows above ground. These four are what the trunk is made of; each grew because a specific year demanded it.
